Based in Athens, Alcmini leads a dual life as a full-time lawyer and a singer. Her journey into music began in childhood, when she took piano lessons and participated in a children’s choir, where she had the opportunity to collab with esteemed artists such as Mimis Plessas, Stamatis Spanoudakis, Tasos Ioannidis and Chistos Thiveos. Her voice appeared in a number of albums “Lachana kai Xachana” featuring icons like Giorgos Dalaras and Eleni Tsaligopoulou.
In 2020, she joined CHÓRES, a female choir created by Marina Satti, who mentored and inspired her to pursue her passion for traditional music. Her solo performance in CHÓRES’ rendition of the traditional lullaby “Ipne pou pernis ta pedia” captivated the audience. She has since appeared in a number of projects, including Greek National Opera productions, such as “The Murderess”, composed by Yorgos Koumendakis, where she sang in a quartet led by Martha Mavroidi, and has worked with musicians such as Savina Yannatou, Petros Klampanis and Ermis, who featured her in his EP “Ano Petra”.
Her solo debut is an acapella rendition of the Thracian folk song “Na’man pouli”, set against the backdrop of the Mosque of Ibrahim Han in Crete, which serves as a raw & authentic introduction to her identity. She aims to honor the timeless melodies of Greece, infusing them with her distinct singing style and contemporary aesthetic references, hoping to make them resonate with her generation.
